legendary vintage chronograph movement
Born and manufactured in Switzerland in the 50s and 60s, the Valjoux 92 incorporated the technological innovation of the famous oscillating pinion, enabling the chronograph to operate much more efficiently thanks to a coupling system linking the chronograph part to the watch part of the movement with extremely high precision, and has become a milestone among manual chronograph movements of this era.
Valjoux 92
In addition to its innovative coupling mechanism, the Valjoux 92
features a column-wheel chrono drive, 17 jewels, an
rubies, a frequency of 18,000 vibrations/h, and a power reserve
of 39 hours. For the collaboration, Depancel's watchmakers have
restored and modified the movement, visible through a transparent
back, a feature that of course didn't exist in the
earlier watches equipped with a Valjoux 92.
TIMELESS DESIGN
The design of the Depancel X Worn & Wound Allure Valjoux 92 is inspired by the Allure collection. The aesthetic is both luxurious and sporty, with a trendy neo-vintage look. Unlike traditional chronographs, the highly original dial design incorporates a pulsometric scale at its center, which can be read with the rear end of the chrono seconds hand. The choice of mint as the dial's main color is inspired by those classic American cars, with their acidic hues present in the Californian imagination. The brilliance of the green contrasts elegantly with the brushed black metallic surfaces, giving this timepiece a cool, carefree style.
